There’s a new breakfast + brunch place in town called Hilda’s. Named after the precious mother of Carlton Brown (owner of Occasional Occasions by Carlton), Hilda’s is an eclectic and relaxed atmosphere that will give you the feeling of eating a hearty breakfast in your mother’s kitchen. Our focus is on simple in-house prepared foods from homemade chicken/turkey sausage, collard green pesto, signature omelets overflowing with fresh ingredients, and made to order Belgian Waffles topped with Jakes’ Ice Creams and Bourbon Pecan Sauce. Word around town is that everyone loves the Grits Emporium, Swedish style pancakes and Ah Oui French Toast made with croissants.
To have been open for fewer months (4 –months, weekends only) than many restaurants have been open for in years, and to see the overwhelming success of Hilda’s….Hilda may not be amongst us any longer, but she is truly looking down and smiling right about now. To hear all of the positive responses ranging from “I feel like I’m floating on air” when referring to our incredible Belgian Waffles, to “It’s the most amazing vegan meal I’ve ever had” – Josh Sarver), customers are continuously not just satisfied, but excited and elated with their experience. The feel of sitting in your grand mothers’ kitchen while she prepares a meal of love, surrounded by a giant touch of warmth and family, simplicity at its best, eclectic décor, but over ridden with pride and quality is what you get at Hilda’s. From the bellowing sound of ole skool gospel in the background on Sundays, to smooth jazz on Saturdays, the atmosphere just warrants you wanting to take your shoes off, loosen your belt and stay a minute. We have been blessed at Hilda’s to have the continued support of our now “regulars” and the surprised look on the new customers who stumble upon us and declare this as their new brunch spot. Come see for yourself what all the hoopla is about.
